Partner with the Pros to Recruit More Players

The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation is taking a more active role in increasing the awareness of ultimate frisbee in Minnesota middle schools and high schools.  We also hope to increase participation on middle school and high school ultimate frisbee teams by assisting teams with player recruitment, one of the most difficult challenges facing coaches in our community.

Our plan is to create strategic partnerships with schools and teams that would be interested in hosting a Wind Chill player at their school to teach a day of ultimate frisbee in physical education classes or introduce the sport to students in another way at school, during which they would invite the students to attend a practice for the team after school.  Additionally, the Wind Chill will provide an incentive for students to come to the first practice (Wind Chill tickets, pizza, ice cream, etc.).

We are only accepting applications from middle schools and high schools with an existing ultimate frisbee program or team.  There is no cost to participate in the partnership program or apply for partnership.  All programs partnering with the Wind Chill will be expected to provide a short report on the impact of the partnership by June 15. This report will be emailed to you at least one month prior to the due date.

We invite any student, teacher, parent, administrator, coach, board member or other supporter of an existing middle school or high school ultimate frisbee team to apply.  However, please speak to those involved with your program and only submit one partnership application per school.  Those programs that have already done some of the work to get the physical education teachers at their school on board with the partnership will be much more likely to be selected as a partner. If you submit a partnership application, and would also benefit from other foundation programs such as our grants, you are welcome to apply for multiple programs in the same semester.

Applicants are encouraged to type their answers to the questions in another document before copying and pasting them into the Google Form.  Incomplete partnership applications will not be considered. A completed application is not a guarantee of partnership.

Applications will be handled on a rolling-basis throughout the spring semester.  However, those programs and schools applying earliest will have the greatest opportunity to partner with the Wind Chill because of the time and difficulty scheduling with the physical education teachers at the school, your program, and Wind Chill players.  The Minnesota Wind Chill Foundation maintains the right to close applications once our player's schedules are booked for the semester.

If you have questions, we encourage you to reach out to Dylan DeClerck at dylan@windchillultimate.com.
