Welcome to Cellars Sessions by Clare Sound, our new recording project. Essentially, the concept is this: we're trying to give bands and artists the opportunity to have their music recorded and mixed to a fairly professional standard in a live setting. We're also going to be professionally filming sets so not only will you have a fully mixed recording to share with anyone you like, but essentially a semi-pro music video! After a 2 week period following the gig for us to do some publicity for the event (and you guys), we'll provide you with the full unequivocal copyright release to the stem files (raw multitrack channel recordings), the mix, and the video so you'll fully own everything. This will be
completely free for all bands/artists.
In the interest of full transparency, we're subsidising this with £5 ticket sales which will be 100% reinvested back to fund the event and allow us to upgrade our recording and lighting equipment so we can do even better sessions in the future.
We're mainly doing this for you guys, the musicians of Cambridge, and to give everyone the opportunity to have something high quality to look back on their time in the music scene here. We're also really keen to give local Cambridge artists the opportunity to take part in this so if you know anyone, please encourage them to apply!!
We're planning for the first session to take place on 27/10/2023 in Clare Cellars between 8pm and 11pm (pending final confirmation from the college) to a packed and lively audience. Sets will need to be capped to 45 mins per band/artist to allow time for changeovers and for us to set up the recording. We intend to launch this publicly at the beginning of Michaelmas term 2023 and would really appreciate it if you could share the event with as many people as possible when we do.
