Richmond Zen Membership and Pledge Form
Richmond Zen offers two types of membership:
"Associate" is for those who wish to support the center at a basic level. This is understood as any contribution which promotes the continued well-being of the community.
"Member" is for those who wish to make a strong commitment to their practice and the community. Members are asked to attend regularly for 3 months before applying, have a private introductory meeting with Richmond Zen’s head priest, make a membership pledge, and help maintain aspects of our practice (bell ringing, chant leading, cleaning, tea making, etc.). They help Richmond Zen thrive, rather than merely survive. Members have voting privileges and may also play an organizational role, such as electing or serving on the board of directors.
