Volunteers are invited to join the Tipi Raisers at our Base Camp and work and play alongside Lakota tribal workers to help repair homes, deliver needed donations, cut firewood, share meals and learn about the rich Lakota culture. While these trips are free, we do encourage volunteers to fundraise within their communities to help us offset the costs of the trip. Contact
lori@thetipiraisers.org for more information on how to do this.
NOTE: Food and modest lodging are provided. If you have specific food requirements or allergies, please consider supplementing our meals with your dietary requirements as there are multiple refrigerators and shelving space at Base Camp for you to keep items. Transportation is not provided.
Please pack work shoes, work gloves, warm weather gear, plenty of socks, etc. There are cots available but we encourage you to bring sleeping bags, pillows and towels - if you forget these items, we do have extras. There may be an opportunity for a sweat lodge in which men wear bathing suits and women wear dresses or skirts/shirts that cover the shoulders and go below the knees.
More information will be forwarded to you upon completion of this form.
