Student U Year Round Tutoring 2021-2022-Hybrid Model
Thank you for your interest in tutoring our middle and high school students this year! Below you will find more information about the layout of our Year Round Tutoring Program. Please complete the questions below.
During the school year, we host tutoring for our middle and high school students throughout the week. Generally, tutoring takes place at the W.G. Pearson Center, daily, during our Year-Round Program for our middle school students and on Tuesday and Thursday evenings for our high school students. Due to COVID-19, we will be hosting tutoring using a hybrid model. 1. Although MS students will be in person this year, students will receive support from tutors virtually, to decrease contact from so many people. 2. HS students will also have access to the virtual platform we will be using on a daily basis. 3. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, there will be an in person option for HS students participating in 9th grade build up or in person tutoring on those evenings. Virtual tutoring is organized using Zoom breakout rooms and students have the option to work 1-on-1 with a tutor, in a small group session, and/or with peer groups. The main goal for our tutors is to help our students both complete and understand their homework. It is imperative that we have volunteers throughout the week during ALL of the allotted times. We are asking volunteers to commit to tutoring at least one day per week. On average, our volunteer tutors volunteer at least 1-2 hours per session. We look forward to working with you!
