Call for YOUTH CAMP Volunteer Leaders
The following volunteer opportunities are available for our Youth Camp Programs.

We are seeking submissions for high school students to fill the roles as volunteer Leaders In Training for our Youth Camps.

The Leader in Training (LIT) program is for youth (ages 14-17) to develop leadership skills and gain valuable practical experience while having fun with children. It allows youth to give back to their community and earn leadership hours for school.

The basics of leadership training are about establishing your purpose as a leader and the mindset you need to cultivate in yourself and your team. As a leader, being a role model means embodying the values and behaviours you expect from your team, inspiring and motivating them to do the same.

Marquee Theatrical Productions will respond to set up an interview where we can chat to learn more about you and so you may also ask any questions that you might have.  Qualified candidates who share our commitment to equity and inclusion and who will contribute to the vision of creating inclusive and equitable outcomes.  We are looking for LIT's for the following camps.

Summer Camps 2024

Leaders In Training must be able to commit to min 1 full camp session as outlined below.

Camps are held at Marquee's Studio, 73 Industrial Parkway N, Unit 2B in Aurora ON or at another location owned by the Town of Aurora.

DUTIES INCLUDE: 

  • assist counsellors in rehearsal management 
  • serve as a positive role model
  • complete show related tasks: costuming, prop organization, stage preparation, set design etc. 
  • complete program related tasks: lead campers, communicate instructions, clean program areas, take attendance, making slideshows, taking pictures etc.
  • perform management tasks
  • prepare and lead theatre activities

CAMP HOURS - 8AM-9AM (BEFORE CARE), 9-4pm (ORGANIZED CAMP PROGRAMMING), 4-6pm (AFTER CARE)

Before and after care duties are shared/rotated among the team but all team members are required for the organized programming.
