COVID19 Essential Information from Y6 parents

In line with the requests from the Government, we are planning to extend our current offer to include our Year Six pupils as of the 1st June. This can only be done if the 5 Key tests set by the government justify the changes at the time, including that the rate of infection is decreasing, so please be aware that this could change.

Before we can accurately assess what provision we can offer, we need to establish demand as I don't assume that all Y6 families will want their children to attend school at this time. This survey is designed to gather the information we need to formalise a plan to operate safely, preserve life and prevent the spread of the virus.

Our building is provisioned to provide education, not clinical isolation and it is the right of every parent to make their own choice regarding if their child shall attend or not. Under the Government guidance, no families will be fined for non-attendance of their child, nor is there any pressure from us for you to do so.

I understand that, while the school will make reasonable and realistic efforts to keep my child safe from infection, they cannot guarantee their safety from COVID19. I recognise this is both an airborne and contact based virus and as such, carries a high risk of infection. *
My child understands and can follow effective hand washing and safe hygiene practices. I also give my assurance that my child will abide by the social distancing guidance as outlined by the government and the school. *
I understand that, if my child can't or won't observe safe practices around hygiene and social distancing, their place could be removed as school is only open to them on a voluntary basis. *
