Due to the nature of this mission, we do hope to understand your child to the very best of our ability prior to leaving the US for Latin America. The answers to these questions will help reveal them in a different light.  We do know that not every 13-14 year old is ready for this type of cultural immersion, so it is important for you to assess the readiness of your child so that they can have the best possible experience with us, be engaged and present as a team member and to experience personal growth from this opportunity.

Describe how your child does on overnight trips or spending the night out with friends.
How do you feel about your child's use of technology? We discourage purchasing international data plans for this trip and will limit usage of phones and technology. The majority of the time students will not have access to Wi-Fi but you will receive updates from our chaperones, including regular Facebook postings.
Has your child ever experienced bullying and how did they handle this situation?
How do you think your child will do bonding with a new group of peers? How will he/she adjust to respecting the rules and directions of our adult and college-student chaperones?
How do you feel your child will do living in a developing country (i.e. eating new and different foods, dealing with hot conditions, interacting with children who live in poverty)?
