Torquay Swim School - Baines Cres - Sunday 15th November

On Sunday 15th November we will be holding a Preliminary Swim Assessment Day at the Torquay Swim School from 9:15am-12:00pm. There will be no normal U7-U9 Nippers Surf Sports Training session on this day. U10-U13 training will still be held, however, participants who have not already completed their Preliminary Swim Assessment must also ensure they book a time below.

Preliminary Swim Assessments are a risk management procedure to appraise the swimming capabilities of Nipper participants and must be done as part of the clubs duty of care. An Age Manager must feel satisfied that a participant would be able to swim to safety if required. Any child that does not meet the required evaluation level will require a higher level of supervision when involved in water based activities at the discretion of the assessor.

Minimum Swim requirements:

U7 -   Front glide & kick for 3metres & 30 second (back float)
U8 -   25m swim (any stroke) & 1 minute survival float
U9 -   25m swim (any stroke) & 1 minute survival float
U10 - 25m swim & 1.5 minute survival float
U11 - 50m swim & 2 minute survival float
U12 - 100m swim & 2 minute survival float
U13 - 150m swim & 3 minute survival float
