CockyHacks 2024 is a 32-hour hackathon focused on innovation to improve and benefit the USC community.  A hackathon is an event where people engage in rapid and collaborative engineering over a relatively short period of time. For us, this means groups of 1-4 students partnering up to identify a problem, design a solution, and create a solution targeting the affected groups. Specific requirements will be given at the start of the hackathon.

The theme for the event is A Better USC. If you have an idea you are passionate about that doesn't fit this theme, you can still do it! The theme is the main focus and for brainstorming if you don't already have an idea, and we would love for you to use it, but it is not required.

Do I need to know how to code? No! While many of our attendees may have a CS background and will program their projects (and we encourage you to give it a shot if you are interested!), you can build a product using any tools so long as it is your work and follows the instructions given at the kickoff.
