This document sets out our agreement for working together. Please read the Terms and Conditions laid out below and then indicate your agreement at the bottom by electronically signing and dating. You will receive a copy of the form for your records via email.

I, Me, We, Us, refers to Lara Zane, Hand in Hand Instructor, and leader of this course.
You, Participant refers to you, the valued client.

Your Starter Class Includes

• Weekly Zoom calls, lasting 1 hour 45 minutes over six consecutive weeks, commencing Wednesday 26 July 2023.

• Lifetime access to an online classroom that contains teaching videos, the full set of nine Listening to Children booklets and a class manual.

• A dedicated discussion group for participants of this class to allow you to ask questions between Zoom calls, and set up your own Listening Partnerships. This will be moderated by me for the six weeks of the class, either on WhatsApp or within the Hand in Hand app.

Payments
The Hand in Hand Parenting Starter Class costs £260 for the six week class.  Your place is confirmed when I receive your payment, which I will acknowledge by email.  If paying by installments, please take responsibility for arranging these as follows:

Missed Classes
Attending the calls is important to building safety for the group. If you know that you will be missing a call, please let me know in advance. I am happy to send you a recording of the class and you can use the discussion group to ask questions about the content for that week. If, due to illness or other unforeseen circumstances, you have to miss a number of classes, please do get in touch to discuss the situation.

The first class is extremely important in getting to know each other, creating a sense of safety within the group and exploring the key basics of this approach. If an unexpected situation arises that means that you are unable to participate in the first session you will not be able to join the rest of the course but I am happy to discuss transferring your booking to my next class. Please contact me as soon as possible in this case.

Cancellations
If you need to cancel, you may do so up to one week in advance of the first session, less an admin fee of £15. After this time your fee is non refundable but you are welcome to transfer to another later date. Please get in touch to discuss this if needed - I very much want to ensure that you get the support you are looking for.

I reserve the right to alter the dates of the course in unforeseen circumstances and will do my very best to ensure that any replacement dates work for all course members or provide a recording and alternative support, eg a 20 minute 1:1 call at a convenient time, if not.

If the course is unable to run for any reason, any fees paid will be refunded in full.

Homework Between Classes, and Self Care
I will encourage you to do some ‘homework assignments’, watch videos and read material in the online classroom between classes.  There is no written requirement for the class, no assignments are assessed, they are for your benefit only, to enhance your learning and experience of the class.  

The more you put into trying out the tools discussed, and ‘keeping up’ with the video and reading material, the more you and your child(ren) will gain from this class. And, I also acknowledge how much parents are juggling, and how hard some days and weeks can be. So while these extra activities are warmly encouraged they are not compulsory, and you are welcome to join us for the calls whether you have done all or none of them.

Please note that working through this class may stir up unresolved feelings from your own childhood. I will do my best to support you throughout and encourage you to set up your own Listening Partnerships to support your well-being between classes and beyond. I will provide full information about how to do this during the first class. Please let me know if you are struggling at any point.

Confidentiality and my Limitations
All Hand in Hand classes, and consults are bound by strict rules of confidentiality.  On occasion, some aspects of my work as a Certified Hand in Hand Parenting Instructor may be taken to supervision by more senior Instructors. No names or identifying context will be used. When calls are recorded (eg if someone is ill), a link to the recording will be emailed and it is not to be shared with others. Listening Time will not be recorded.

Please note, I do not provide any form of psychotherapy and cannot advise on approaches beyond the use of the Hand in Hand tools within the context of this class.

Contact Outside Class
In order to respect the privacy of our teaching relationship,  if we were to meet in a setting outside of our class I would not discuss any of the work we are doing together in class. I also do not accept ‘friend requests’ on Facebook from clients but you are welcome to follow my Facebook Page, Hand in Hand Parenting with Lara Zane, UK.
