In an effort to serve you well, we are now accepting inquires for 2022-2023 Board positions and support positions. Please select the position you are most interested in and feel most qualified to serve from the list below and submit this application by May 30th, 2022. All officers must be members in good standing with CEC at the time of their nomination and election and remain so throughout their term of office. The FCEC Board is expressly prohibited from actively campaigning for any candidate other than himself or herself.
2022 Florida CEC open positions:
1. President Elect:Student Advisor: Works with our student representative to represent the student population and initiatives of Florida CEC. This person is typically a faculty member.
2. Regional Representatives (multiple appointed positions available): Will support the FCEC board to serve as liaisons to local chapters by maintaining regular contact, assisting chapters by disseminating information and providing presentations when appropriate, and encouraging nominations from chapters for FCEC offices, committee chairs, and awards. Will assist chapters in responding to the required assurances for recognition within FCEC and for participation in the governance in the organization.
3. Conference Committee Members: Will develop the program for the annual conference and/or to plan other programs according to the policies and directives of the BOD. The Conference Committee shall have a minimum of four (4) FCEC members in addition to the chairperson, with broad geographical and instructional level (i.e. PK-12 and post-secondary) representation when possible.
4. CAN Committee Members (Advocacy): Shall develop coalitions with groups and organizations that have a common interest in educational public policy. This committee is chaired by the FCEC CAN Coordinator.
5. Communications Committee Members: Shall plan and develop publicity that will give recognition to state unit activities and members, etc.
