Personalized Progress Program (P3)

P3 is a great way to get personalized and custom coaching without having to pay the price of a private lesson ($125/hour). You and your horse(s) will be welcomed to my home in southern Iowa to have a concentrated and guided horsemanship experience. There will never be more than 4 participants at a time for intermediate to advanced folks or 2 participants at a time for beginners. Also, you will get to observe and ask questions as I continue to develop my personal horses. This program is not a private lesson and it is not a clinic. What you work on while you are here is unique to you and your individual needs, but you will not have my undivided attention like you would in a private lesson.

Our mornings will begin at 9:00 am without horses unless we have made other arrangements due to weather conditions. Please plan on arriving no later than 8:30 if you are coming for 1 day so that we can get you and your horses settled and be ready to start at 9:00. We will generally have a theory discussion for about an hour then head to the arena. We will cover both ground and riding skills and finish no later than 1:00 each day.

To round out your experience and to give you something to do in the afternoons, we are close to some really great places to visit. I recommend you check out all that Pella, IA has to offer. This is a tourist town steeped in Dutch history. https://www.visitpella.com/ Lake Red Rock is nearby and is Iowa’s largest lake. https://corpslakes.erdc.dren.mil/visitors/projects.cfm?ID=B515070 To the south we have Lake Rathbun. This area near Moravia, IA has several fun places to see and visit. https://www.honeycreekresort.com/things-to-do We are less than an hour from Des Moines, IA if you crave some urban adventures.

You are welcome to use my arena and round pen in the afternoons if you like. I just recommend that you take it kind of easy on your horse. The learning we do in the mornings can be a bit intense and keeping your horses in a learning frame of mind is very important. There are grassy areas for hand grazing and hanging out as well.

My husband and I run this facility entirely on our own. I am the feed team, the horse health team, the horse development team, the administration team, the marketing team, the hospitality team and so much more. My husband takes impeccable care of all facility and mechanical maintenance. For this reason, please be prepared to take care of yourself and your horses during your stay. This includes removing the manure from your horse's paddocks twice a day, feeding your horses, and taking good care of yourselves.

Please do not bring your dogs with you. I have 3 dogs here that are not always very well socialized with other dogs. They are used to having the run of the place and I do not wish to have to kennel them every time we have guests here.

The cost for P3 is  $200/ day with no added arena or boarding fees. Payment is due upon arrival along with a completed Hold Harmless Agreement.  Guest horses will be given an outdoor paddock with shelter and water for their stay.  I do ask that you bring your own hay, feed, and buckets. Keep your horse's area clean by picking up manure twice daily. I will provide the fork and wheelbarrow.

We are offering onsite camping for our guests. There are power hookups, a full bathroom, a refrigerator and microwave are also available. Camping will cost $10/night. My Camper is open for rental as well. The cost will be $25/ night. There are hotels available in Knoxville, Albia and Pella, IA that are all only 20 minutes away.

We do not yet have an indoor facility, so be prepared to be flexible. If the weather does not allow us to ride we will likely have to reschedule. We do have a 100' X 150' outdoor arena, a large round corral as well as lots of rolling hills with a few obstacles to play with. Trail rides are also a possibility.

Please be sure to confirm dates with me before completing this registration form. I look forward to having you here! Feel free to call, text or email if you have any questions. I do not collect deposits on P3 because it is possible we will have to be flexible on dates if the weather is uncooperative. I just ask that if you fill out this form, you are committed to doing what it may take to spend this time with me as I keep those dates just for you.

I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with you and look forward to welcoming you to my home. I hope to see you soon!
