* ABOUT THE SUMMIT *

The Youth Empowerment Project's 3-day workshop on Leadership, Organizing, and Action.

Leadership is about accepting responsibility for enabling others to achieve shared purpose in the face of uncertainty. During these 3-days, participants will have the opportunity to work with peers and leaders from across the country to develop capacity for effective community leadership. Participants will learn five core leadership practices:

1) How to articulate a story of why you were called to lead, a story of those whom you hope to mobilize, and a story of action: self, us, and now.
2) How to build intentional relationships as the foundation of purposeful collective actions.
3) How to structure your team with shared purpose, ground rules, and roles for effective leadership.
4) How to strategize turning your resources into the power to achieve clear goals.
5) How to translate strategy into measurable, motivational, and effective action.

Participants are intentionally recruited in teams of 5-8 people with an organizing project focus to attend this workshop. If you are interested in participating but have not been recruited by someone from the Wild Project network, or have already attended the multi-day Wild training and want to return with a team of 5-8 people to participate, please contact Nneka Akubeze at Nneka.Akubeze@gmail.com before registering.

* COVID TESTING * (Required)

In an effort to ensure a safe learning environment for all participants, we are requiring every person to complete a rapid COVID test 24-48 hours before arriving at the training, take a picture of the results and email them to Michele St. Amour at MStAmour@wiphilanthropy.org. During the training we will also be testing at the beginning of each day, so if you are able, ask that you bring 3 extra tests for yourself. We will have extras available. And we encourage anyone flying in to wear a mask and for everyone to be conscious of your close contacts the days leading up to the training. We realize these are extra steps, but in these times we feel this is important for the safety of all.
