Thirsty Mind Scholarship Fund
To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

1. Be an African -American young woman currently attending Penn Hills Senior High School graduating in June of 2021. Planning to attend an accredited two or four-year college, university, or trade school full time in the Fall of 2021.
2. Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8.
3. Have an interest in community involvement or leadership.
4. Be an active member of at least one organization or extracurricular activity. This includes any school-sponsored activity, club, or sport, church organization, or any other community organization outside of school.

Submit a 2-3-page essay answering the following: 1. Include an introduction of yourself- Who are you? 2. Why do you want to further your education? 3. Who/what has influenced you to continue your education? 4. How are you currently involved in your community?5. If given an opportunity to empower black girls and women what would you do or create to contribute to the “Black Girl Magic Movement”?It is very important that you are detailed with your answers when constructing the essay.   The essay is one of the most important components of your application. It assists in us getting to know you and It is very important that you answer all the above questions. Incomplete essays will automatically disqualify you and your application will not be considered. When preparing your essay, it is recommended that you use Microsoft Word, so you are not under the two-page minimum or you do not exceed the three-page maximum. Please use Times New Roman 12-point font double spaced. Please make sure someone proofreads your essay before submission. *
