Producer Responsibility stakeholder survey

In July 2020, the state legislature passed Senate Bill SB20-055 (SB-55), Incentivize Development Recycling End Markets. This bill is intended to grow recycling programs by addressing the lack of local end markets for recyclable materials in Colorado through a four-pronged approach.

One approach in SB-55 details how the department will study what industry and other states are doing about producer responsibility for the end-of-life management of products and packaging. Then create subsequent policy recommendations based on literature review findings. The department is also engaging stakeholders to develop these policy recommendations.

This survey will be used to collect stakeholder feedback on existing producer responsibility programs and models. This survey will be open until January 2021 when the department will then host virtual stakeholder meetings.
