Description
Machine Finished Binding Using Glue Basting

Description:
Learn to finish binding completely by machine (no hand stitching) with the help of glue basting, resulting in a clean professional looking finish.

Materials and Supplies Needed:
 - A smallish (~45 x 60" or smaller) quilt or table runner to be bound
 - Binding cut 2-1/2" wide, enough to go around quilt
 - Elmer's School Glue or Roxanne Glue Baste It (syringe tip squeeze bottle)
 - Sewing machine; walking foot if you have one
 - Thread to match binding and bobbin to match backing
 - Basic sewing supplies including straight pins
 - Optional: The Binding Tool (TQM Products); Wonder Clips or similar small clips

Pre-Class Prep:
 - After quilting, trim backing and batting 1/8" away from edge of quilt top. This is especially important if your top has points at the edges that you don't want cut off.
 - Make binding: Join strips end-to-end, trim seam allowances, press in half lengthwise.

Class size limited to 12 participants because we'll all have bulky stuff to spread out and we'll all need to use the ironing tables at the same time. Long arm use okay during class.
