Join Queer Student Resources (QSR) as a staff member for the 2022-2023 academic year and help make Stanford a place where students of all genders and sexualities can flourish! QSR staff serve on programmatic teams (unless otherwise noted), hold regular weekly shifts in QSpot (Firetruck House, 2nd Floor), manage a portfolio of individual and shared responsibilities and attend weekly Friday staff meetings from 12:30-1:30pm PST.  All staff positions are paid and are open to graduate and undergraduate students (all classes) unless specified otherwise.  

We are seeking people who:
— Are organized, energetic, detail-oriented and adept at community-building
— Are excited to build community with other queer and trans students and create spaces where queer and trans students are centered
— Have innovative ideas about how best to welcome new students to campus and help them find their footing
— Are excited to create new traditions for Stanford queer community

Time commitment:  
— 30 min bi-weekly – Meetings with a QSR director to check in, brainstorm, and give updates
— 1 hour weekly – Staff meeting (Fridays 12:30-1:30pm PST)
— 2-5 hours weekly – Social Hours and programmatic work

QSpot Online Manager
(Fall 2022 – Spring 2023)

The QSpot Online Manager works to maintain QSR’s online calendar, website and social media presence and help advertise QSR events. We’re seeking people who:

— Are organized, energetic, detail-oriented and adept at community-building
— Are skilled at managing multiple systems, including:
— QSR’s online calendar
— QSR’s website queer.stanford.edu
— QSR’s Social Media Platforms
— Have innovative ideas about how best to welcome new students to campus and help them find their footing
— Are excited to create and maintain a vibrant space for Stanford’s queer community and allies
— Are enthusiastic about promoting QSR events via email lists, online presence, and other mediums that are popular with students

QSR Big 5 Coordinators
(Summer 2022 – Spring 2023)

NOTE: This position requires work during summer 2022

QSR Big 5 Coordinators work as a two-person team to plan QSR’s Big 5 events. We’re seeking people who:
— Are organized, energetic, detail-oriented and adept at community-building
— Have innovative ideas about how best to welcome new students to campus and build queer community.
— Are excited to organize and host QSR Big 5 events, including:
— QSR New Student Orientation events (Spring, Summer and Fall Qtrs)
— QSR Family Weekend (Winter Qtr)
— QSR Admit Weekend events (Spring Qtr)
— QSR Graduation (Spring Qtr)

QueerSalam Coordinator
(Fall 2022 – Spring 2023)

The Queer Salam Coordinator works to create gatherings for queer folks who currently identify or have identified with the Islamic faith and/or community! We’re seeking someone who:  

 – Is excited to build QueerSalam community and host gatherings twice a quarter (or more frequently) during fall, winter and spring quarters. This includes planning the events, making flyers and marketing across campus, ordering food and/or supplies, and being at events to facilitate community building
– Is organized, energetic, detail-oriented and adept at community-building
– Has a sense of what kinds of social QueerSalam gatherings students would show up for and be excited about  
– Is enthusiastic about creating spaces where queer folks of Islamic faith and community feel centered, supported, and in community
