We, the undersigned, petition the Council to support and approve the permanent rebuild of the Sharavana Baba Community Centre and place of worship. This comprises the erection of a single-storey building adjoining a metal frame structure (to provide a more fire-resistant construction than that of the former marquee which perished in the flames), in addition to the provision of freestanding external multi-faith structures across the land. This unique facility will allow local residents to practice their faith in a safe, wholesome and peaceful environment, whilst promoting both physical and mental wellbeing in the community. As one of the central pillars of the Centre's mission, the new space will also allow for charitable commitments to the local community in Barnet to be fulfilled and sustained indefinitely.
