This year your student will read works from the Round Rock ISD Secondary Language Arts Reading List for his or her English course.  RRISD teachers and librarians have selected these titles based on quality and literary characteristics to teach the Texas Essential Know-ledge and Skills for English Language Arts at this grade level.  Your child will be reading selections from the list, but he/she will not read all of the titles. As the parent/guardian, you are receiving a list of titles selected from the Secondary Language Arts Reading List for review.

If you view this Web page from home or any site other than a RRISD campus, you will need passwords to access online databases.  I am enclosing those passwords with this letter.

Because of the varied interests, abilities, and maturity levels of students, it is the parent’s/guardian’s responsibility to determine which titles from this list his/her child may not read.  Reading selections, especially those for AP/IB courses, contain mature content because the AP/IB courses include college-level material.  Round Rock ISD encourages you to examine the list. If you do not have access to the Internet from home, or if you would like to visit one of our campus libraries to view this list online, you are welcome to do so during regular or extended hours of operation.  Please check with campus librarians to determine what hours of operation are most convenient for you.
