Innovating Knowledge Database
Thank you for trying out the beta version of the Innovating Knowledge database! We plan to release the final version of the database at the end of the summer. Your feedback can greatly help us to improve it along the way.

This survey deals specifically with your user experience. If you want to suggest a new manuscript to be added to the database, point out an error in any of the manuscript descriptions, or fill in a gap in our manuscript records, please write directly to the project PI: evina.steinova@gmail.com. You can also write the PI if you have feedback that did not fit into this survey form.

The survey is anonymous. It will take you max. 10 minutes to fill in completely. If you do not want to, you do not need to answer all questions.

3. Are there any features that you know from other manuscript portals that could be included in this database?
4. What if we told you that our budget allows us to add one entirely new feature? What would you like to be added?
5. Did you find the faceted search easy to use and intuitive? Do you have any remarks about its functionalities or the search categories we used?
6. Once you perform a query, are you satisfied with how the results are displayed, and how can you further work with them?
7. How do you find the detailed record for the manuscripts in the database? Do you miss any information here? Would you appreciate a download function for individual record views?
8. Are you satisfied with the manuscript image included in the detailed record? Would you appreciate it if we integrated a manuscript viewer so that you could directly view the manuscripts with IIIF manifests?
9. The database makes use of colourful icons and labels to classify manuscripts containing the Etymologiae. Did you find this feature useful?
10. The database includes a map view. How do you like this feature?
11. An important element of the database is the download function that lets you download your query as a .csv file. How do you like this feature? Are you satisfied with the .csv format, or you prefer other download formats as well?
12. In the future, we intend to add several pages to provide more information about interesting innovations described by the database, e.g., various collections in which the Etymologiae were embedded. How do you feel about such an addition to the database?
13. We are also considering presenting the data from the database as a print-friendly e-catalogue in a .pdf format. Are you interested in such an e-catalogue?
14. How do you like the look of the database?
15. Do you have any additional suggestions for us that could help us to improve the database?
