Please read the following STOICH Authorship Policy

MISSION STATEMENT: STOICH aspires to develop and make publicly available products that give fair credit to all participants involved in the work. We believe that:

- The determination of authorship should be transparent throughout the process from conception to publishing a final product.

- Our project should promote equity by working to confront and challenge long-standing biases in our disciplines.

- Authorship decisions can and should be used to promote the career development of trainees and early-career scholars.

- We strive for inclusivity in authorship opportunity and responsibility/accountability in authorship practice.

We will do this by:

- Having a centralized platform for proposing product ideas, soliciting coauthor contributions, and tracking the progress of all products.

- Creating a space at our regular meetings for conversations about possible products and collaborations.

- Outlining examples of types of products we might produce and the disciplinary and project norms that govern how authorship of these products will be determined.

- Encouraging senior team members to model authorship accountability by example.

- Encouraging team members to discuss authorship responsibilities with manuscript leads.

- Proactively inviting students and post-docs to participate in collaborative projects that fall within their area(s) of interest.

- Acknowledging that our practices may need to adapt in response to changing or unexpected circumstances.
