For everyone selling or fitting hearing aids, with little or no formal training completed. Focus on practical training.
This four day course focuses on providing practical knowledge required by all those working in local specialized shops.
The Basic Course targets any person working in the field of hearing aid fitting without having received special training or wishing to refresh or deepen their practical skills.
The training takes place in small groups with patients. Theoretical background will be provided or refreshed in a mandatory web based training prior to the practical course in Lübeck.
Both webinars and a discussion forum provide online support and direct access to the lecturers.
Program
The practical training includes:
client communication and counselling, history and needs assessment
otoscopy, impression taking, ear moulds and acoustical coupling
audiometry practical basics: AC / BC / masking
hearing instrument technology, listening checks and troubleshooting
assistive listening devices
hearing instrument fitting and fine tuning
subjective evaluation and validation
professional work practices
The web based training provides fundamentals of:
medicine and anatomy of the ear
psychology
audiology
