Melanin Medics: The Envision Med Programme - Mentor Form
Thank you for your interest in the Envision Med Programme 2021/2022.

The Envision Med Programme is a 15-month programme designed for Year 12 students of Black African and Caribbean heritage, including those of mixed race heritage who have aspirations to study Medicine in the UK. The programme takes a holistic approach with aims to provide the students with support for the application process whilst placing emphasis on making them a well-rounded competitive applicant.

Applying to Envision Med Programme does not guarantee you a place as this depends on numbers overall. We will, however, accommodate as many spaces as possible.

The Envision Med Programme Application Guidance
- The Envision Med Programme will predominantly run online unless the mentee and mentors decide to include face to face meetings as part of the mentoring relationship.

- The additional sessions associated with the  Envision Med Programme will be delivered virtually from January 2021 – March 2022.

- We will keep you updated if we make any adaptations to the programme.

- Selection of Mentors will be done via shortlist from application forms.

- Your application form will only be seen by the Melanin Medics Mind Us Envision Med Team with the essential maintenance of confidentiality.  

- All training will take place via the Zoom online platform and mentoring sessions will take place on the Nera Platform with possibilities of in person meetings if government guidance permits and if agreed in your pairs.
As an Envision Med Mentee, you will be required to do the following:
- Commit to meeting your mentee on at least 8 occasions throughout the programme via our mentorship platform

- Undergo initial training and receive ongoing support

- Attend on-boarding sessions, meetings and events that are relevant to your role

- Submit a log of short reflections on the Envision Med Programme

- Receive a certificate at the end of the programme for you contribution

By submitting an application you are committing yourself to possibly being selected for the Envision Med Programme which commits you to regular mentoring sessions, academic masterclasses, and educational and development workshops. Mentoring sessions will be agreed within your mentoring pairs. *
