Payment Agreement
I understand that I have the option of purchasing one class at a time or purchasing a package.  If I choose to purchase a package, then I have 90 calendar days to complete the package.  If I do not finish the package within the 90-day period, then I will have lost those classes, and will not be eligible for a refund. *
I agree to make payments to Tom's Dog Training before class starts.  I also understand that there is 48-hour cancelation window.  If I do not cancel within 48 hours, I will be assessed a $25.00 fee.

There are different methods of payment:  Credit card (via the website), Venmo, PayPal.  All of these fees are waved in cases of emergencies, or medical illness.

*
I understand that if one of our trainers recommends a piece of equipment. Then it will be up to the consumer to make that purchase.  If we make the purchase for you at your request, then we will be happy to provide you with a receipt if you requested.  You are responsible for reimbursing us for making the purchase for you.  We do not charge a finders fee, or any additional fee.
You have 30 days to reimburse us. If not done reimbursed within 30 days then you will begin to increment a late fee of $10.00 a day for every day that your bill is not paid. If we do have an item that is on hand and has been previously used, and that nobody else is using, then we will happily give you the item for a significantly discounted price.

We do not promote, endorse, or advertise for any specific company.
*
I understand that every class is 45 to 50 minutes of instruction.  This is followed by a 10-to-15-minute wrap-up session.  This allows time for homework to be assigned, talk about the next class steps and scheduling the following sessions. This is specifically done to allow our staff to get done to the following appointment on time. *
We understand that dogs do have bad days, and on some days are unable to focus for a variety of factors (medical, psychological, environmental, etc).   I agree to pay the class in its full amount.  We will instruct you on how to teach your dog the skills that you requested as if the dog were able to pay attention. This way once your dog is able to pay attention you will know what to do. *
I understand that Tom's Dog Training has a service are of no longer 30 minutes which includes traffic.  If for some reason the client decides to move outside the service area in the middle of training.  Then they could either  A)  Meet at a neutral location  with in the service area.  B) They can be trained remotely via Zoom.  These are really the only two options that are available at this current time.
Clear selection
If at any point you the client feel uncomfortable with anything that is being done during training.  You will alert me either during or after class.  This way we can adjust and move forward.  *

How many minutes of exercise does your dog get on a daily basis? *
Please do not feed your dog on the day that we have class. Positive reinforcement is very much food driven.  I want to make sure that the dog has an appetite and little to no food in their stomach already. If you have an afternoon or evening class, then you can still feed them breakfast.  If you want to feed them breakfast, please feed them half of what they would normally consume. *
Required
I will let Tom's Dog Training know if my dog has a sensitive stomach. If this is the case, then you will have to provide the specific treats that you would like your dog to have. *
Required
Please wear comfortable clothing.  When working with puppies many times we have to get down to the dog's level.  Also, please wear comfortable sneakers. *
Required
Please have the dog's water bowl available. *
Required
If your dog has a bite history and is older than 5 months, they will be required to wear a muzzle. If you do not have a muzzle, please purchase a basket muzzle (not a mesh muzzle, for medical reasons).  We will most likely remove the muzzle after the dog has smelled me and I have had a chance to speak with you about what we are doing in today's class. *
Required
If your dog has any type of aggressive behavior, leash reactive or has resource guarding.
You will have to purchase the following items:
1)  "Halti no pull head halter"  halter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uoGNBs85_TY
2)  A muzzle.  I recommend the company called Baskerville.
Here is a you tube clip on how to put on a muzzle:
You can order both items via Amazon.
*
Please have your dog on leash when we meet.  It will be used during training, and I also want to see you as the owner handle your dog when a guest approaches you. *
Required
If your dog requires specific medication of any type. Please give it to them before we start class. Specifically, dogs that are on Trazedom, Xanax, Zoloft, or any other type of anti-anxiety medication. Should be given before class with enough time for the drug to be in their blood stream and working during class time. *
Required
Please have your dog go to the bathroom before we meet.  A lot of dogs get overly excited when meeting someone new, and they can lose their bowl movements. *
Required
Please have a pen and paper ready to take down any notes that you might need. Most people find it helpful to have a three-ring notebook, or a binder so that they can write down their homework once class is done. *
Required
I have read and understood everything above.  A lot of questions can be answered by simply going to the company's website and be found underneath the FAQ section.  If I do have any questions, I can easily reach out to Tom's Dog Training.  This can be done over email or over the phone.  You should get a response within 24 to 48 hours.  Any questions in regard to this contract should be done before class takes place. *
