This form is to request to run a miniatures game at PortCon Maine June 27-30th 2024. Please review the conditions and guidelines below. Applications will close on February 1st 2024. Application review will begin in mid January and we will begin contacting applicants around this time regarding decisions.
Game Masters who run at least two 4 hour sessions will receive a free exhibitor badge to the convention.
Please note at this time we are not accepting applications to run tournaments. Unfortunately, we don't have the space or timeslots to accommodate these events. We recommend demo games or narrative play scenarios.
Requirements for Submission:
- Game Master must be familiar with their selected ruleset and prepared to supply all materials needed for play to all players.
- Game Master must be prepared to teach their game system to new players
- Game Masters must understand that there is no guarantee their game will fill with players. PortCon miniatures staff will do its best to promote your game and help encourage players to join but as we do not use a sign up system, players are not guaranteed. We encourage Game Masters to prepare for variable numbers of players and be flexible to the number of players.
- Game Masters are encouraged to use or modify rules to allow for easy drop in/out of players as players are not required to attend the full session and new players may discover interest in your game after it has started.
These are not requirements for your game but they are good to keep in mind and may help your submission be accepted during staff review:
- Visual spectacle is a very important part of our miniatures events at PortCon Maine and will vastly increase the chances of our game filling with players.
- At least one center piece terrain feature is recommended for games such as a fortress, landing pad, mountain or other such large and impressive feature to attract interest to your table and game.
- While fully painted armies and terrain are not required for game submissions they are highly recommended. Again, visual spectacle is important and game submissions with fully painted forces and terrain are much more likely to be accepted.
- Game sessions are 4 hours long with an hour of breakdown/setup time between sessions. Plan for your game to fill most of this time and aim for setup/break down of your game in around half an hour. If longer is needed for setup please indicate below.
