Requirements -
If a dancer is selected to be on a company line, she will compete in Jazz and production. She will also be required to take 2 hours of ballet per week (Juniors-Seniors) or 1 hour of ballet per week (Petites). In addition to ballet she will be required to take 1.5 hours of technique per week. If a dancer is selected to be on a pre-comp team she will have one hour of jazz, 1.5 hours of technique and 1 hour of ballet.
Soloists and Duets -
If selected to do a solo, dancers will be required to take an additional 8 hours of ballet and 8 hours of acro throughout the season. Dates for these additional classes will be released by August. If a dancer has not done a solo she will need to choreograph her own dance to show at auditions. The time length should be about 45 seconds. Soloists will also be required to attend one convention.
NUVO February 24-26th. Older soloists have the opportunity to compete to advance to the Dance Awards in Las Vegas. June 24-July 1st.
ADE (younger soloists) February 10-12th.
Convention Fees are $275 per convention.
Additional Company Lines and Small Groups-
Dancers will select if they would like to audition for Lyrical and/or Contemporary. Additional small groups will be selected by the EDC staff the week of auditions.
EDC Company line/Pre-Comp placement is based on the following criteria: technique, potential, commitment level, enthusiasm, attitude and behavior in class, attendance, and stage presence. We place dancers together in groups that we feel will work best together in rehearsals and performances. Company members are selected by judges/staff and will be invited into the appropriate Company class(es).
By auditioning, you understand that not every dancer will be placed a competitive line. Returning company members are not guaranteed a spot in their current line or more advanced line. Dancers will be evaluated on their attitude, attendance, technical ability, and showmanship, along with their audition performance. Teachers will consider past experiences with returning dancers and evaluate their growth throughout the past season and summer months.

Company Line Costs -
Tuition is based on the total number of hours per week a dancer is in class.
Costumes - Group dances range $85-$125 per costume. If rhinestoning is required you have the option to pay a fee to have EDC staff rhinestone or you can rhinestone on your own. Fee ranges $10-$40 per costume (depends on how much time it will take per costume) Solo costumes range $100-$375.
Competition Fees -
$75 per group dance per competition
$155 per solo per competition plus a $375 choreography fee to instructor and $75 studio rental fee to EDC.
$85 per dancer one time fee for the year to cover staff pay at competitions and nationals.
