Goochland County Public Schools 2023-2024 Community Budget Survey

Now that we are nearly one third of the way through the current school year, it is time to start the process of looking ahead to the 2023-2024 school year.

GCPS is asking that you tell us your ideas on what should be included in next year's school division operating budget. What should we prioritize?  What has happened this year that you would like to continue next year? What can we do differently or stop doing to save money so that those dollars can be spent on new ideas? Are there ways we could streamline our operations and be more efficient? 

If you have an idea, we would like to hear from you. It can be something you know that works at another school division, something that you’ve seen in another business, or an idea you’ve come up with that you think might help us do our jobs even better and more efficiently.
 
We also want to know if there are new programs or expansions of current programs that you would like us to consider that would improve the instructional opportunities that we are able to provide for our students. This includes final uses for the federal stimulus funds.
 
All suggestions are welcomed and will be considered. Please respond to this survey by Friday, December 2, 2022, so that we can review them in time to report back to the school board on December 13, 2022. You may also consider attending the December 13th School Board meeting (6:00 pm, Goochland County Administration Building, Room 250) and make your comments publicly.

By the end of this school year, we will have spent almost all of our American Rescue Plan grants received from the Federal Government due to COVID-19. However, we do have some funding for next year for before or after school programs. Do you have any recommendations for the best use of remaining funds? (optional)
