Sustainable Science: Contextualizing Chemistry Through Safer Hands-on Labs

Beyond Benign and Colorado Department of Public Health & Environment teamed up with local teachers to offer a FREE online course to CO science teachers. The training will provide tools to foster students’ critical thinking skills while developing a deeper understanding of how to construct explanations and design solutions through the lens of real world problems and innovative sustainable inventions.

Through a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning, participants will walk away with a tool kit of open access resources and access to a network of other like-minded educators in the region.

NGSS aligned labs featuring easily accessible and safe materials
Plug and play lessons for physical science and chemistry classrooms
Lessons based on real world innovations
