Part 1 - Audio Production

How do you believe Described Video services could be improved to enhance your experience of movies and TV programs?

How could Described Video sound quality and audio mixing (e.g. the relative levels of music vs. dialogue, or dialogue vs. narration) be improved or used differently to enhance your experience of movies and TV programs?

Part 2 – Approaches to Narration

Imagine if an information-heavy program, such as a documentary, featured a DV narrator who had some knowledge or relevance to the program's subject matter. For example: a doctor narrating a health-focused documentary, or a marine biologist narrating a documentary about ocean life. How do you this this would impact your experience of the program?

Imagine if a television program or movie featured a DV narrator who was connected to the production. For example: a film’s director or producer narrating the DV, as opposed to a regular professional DV narrator. How do you think this would impact your experience of the program?

Thinking of the two previous scenarios, imagine a style of DV narration where the narrator functioned a bit more like a ‘character’. For example: introducing themselves at the beginning of the program and sprinkling in relevant insights if/when appropriate. How do you think this would impact your experience of the program?
