2024-2025 Chandler HS AVID Application
AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. AVID is an elective class that meets during the school day. AVID recommends that students remain in the program for at least three years to obtain the highest benefits. AVID students have the highest straight to college ratio nationally and all AVID students work to become eligible for multiple college scholarships.

AVID candidates are selected through a review of their current classes, grades, behaviors, test scores, and teacher recommendations as well as the individual student's motivation, commitments, and potential.

Who can apply to be in AVID?
- Any student who has a strong desire to go to a college or university
- Any student who is willing to take a rigorous course of study and maintain grades of "C" or better
- Any student who feels they would benefit from organizational and academic support
