Date: October 2
Time: 11am-1pm
Location: To be confirmed but near Cottonwood Lake. UPDATE: changed to near Whitewater turnoff. We will email a map to everyone who registers.
Our club will be joined by foresters from Interfor to discuss how our local forests are managed. We will learn about tree planting and then we will work together to plant trees. Last year we planted around 100 trees, can we beat that this year? We will wrap up our event with a fire and a free lunch kindly provided by Interfor.
Equipment will be provided. If you have your own tree planting shovels you are encouraged to bring them.
Explorer Day events are free for club members. Non-members can attend one Explorer Day if there is space. Our events are for kids age 5-12 and their families.
Accessibility: We will be able to drive to the meeting point/lunch spot. The tree planting will take place on a slope with uneven terrain. Please contact us if you have any questions about the suitability of this event for your family.
