Join us for our 2nd in-person Fontan Family camp organized by the Virtual Heart Connection team at the Stollery Children's Hospital and sponsored by the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation. We aim to connect families who care for a child with a Fontan operation with others in similar situations.
We will have fun outdoor activities, arts & crafts, canoeing, music & singing and answer any questions you may have about your heart. We will also have some educational sessions on transition to adult care and our psychologist will be back! This year we will be inviting some adult Fontan survivors to join you and share their lived experiences. Activities will be geared towards the whole family, so let the fun begin! Camp runs from 6 pm on June 7th to 3pm on June 9th. All meals and snacks will be included.
Eligibility: Children between the ages of 4-18 who had Fontan surgery and are followed by a cardiologist anywhere in Canada, their parents and immediate siblings. The presence of at least one parent is required to attend.
Medical care is to be provided by parent(s) based on your cardiologists most recent recommendations.
You will need to arrange for your own transport to camp.
Shared housing with other families will be needed.

This year we are charging a small cost to "hold your spot". If you are a returning family it will be half the cost. Payment can be made by:
1) etransfer to virtualheartconnection@gmail.com with a note in the message line that this is for the Fontan Family Camp.
2) You can pay by cash (along with your signed forms) in an envelop address to our secretary "Taranjeet Bali" at the Pediatric Cardiology department on 4C2 at the Stollery Children's Hospital.
Cost per person (half price for returning families):
under 3 years: free
3-18 years: $10 ($5)
18 years and older: $20 ($10)
- payments are fully refundable until June 1, 2024
- if your plans change after June 1, 2024 your payment will be kept and can be used for next year's camp.
