r/teenagers subreddit moderator applications
Welcome to the official form for the r/teenagers subreddit moderator applications! We are looking for several new subreddit moderators who are willing to communicate actively on the subreddit and engage in moderator discussions on our Discord.

Moderators are all unpaid volunteers and being one can can eat up a lot of time. Content moderators are primarily responsible for:
- Content moderation: removing rulebreaking content.
- User management: warning, banning, and unbanning users.
- Unrest management: reacting to trends on the subreddit that lead to short-term and long-term brigading.
- Subreddit improvement: this can be coming up with ideas to better the sub and give opinions on different ideas.

Moderating will demand more time and involvement than just being a regular user. It is no means a massive chunk of our lives, but can sometimes be a little hard to balance between jobs, homework, family, etc. We communicate regularly with each other via Discord, step in when needed for short or long durations, work with the other two teams on projects, and try to be regular active users within the community. You will have to participate in private moderating discussions, be expected to know the difference between private and public opinions, and be trusted with sensitive and personal information.
If you would like to help out the community and can handle the responsibilities, we would love to have you!

**Please do not apply if you do not feel that you can regularly dedicate time to the server or can only foresee yourself being active for a short time period.

Eligibility requirements:
Must be a member of the community for 60 days or more and have activity throughout the subreddit. (We check this for every application!)
Must be in good standing (no recent serious issues with the mod team).
Must speak and write English fluently.
Must be willing to actively use Discord as a means of official communication with the team.

Applications will close May 24th, 2024 at 23:59BST or once a cap of 500 applications is hit. We ask you set aside 20-30 minutes to write detailed answers and to not delay sending one in. Unfortunately, if you are unable to send in an application due to the cap being it or submitting the application past the deadline, we cannot take your entry.
