Course Descriptions:

(1) Membership Class

This class will study the basic doctrines of Christianity. The class consists of 4 modules:
• Understanding our salvation
• Knowing God
• Loving God’s church &
• Discipleship & Service.
It is for those who are interested in getting baptized into the Christian faith or for those who would like to transfer their membership to CBCM. It is also open to all who would like to grow in their understanding of the basic truths of our faith and our church.

(2) Difficult Conversations with Teenagers

Let’s face it parents, communicating with your teen can be challenging.  They are developing socially and physically, and figuring out themselves, which can make understanding them difficult.  This class will focus on managing particular types of conversations that pose difficulty for parents in trying to communicate with their teens and raise them in a godly way.

A  Practical Study on the Theology of Work  (CBCM Workplace Ministry Series – II)
Christians often are confronted with these questions:  Do you feel trapped in the ordinary?  Do you often feel like you should be doing something extraordinary but your day job is in the way? Is my work secular or spiritual? Should I have a passion for my profession? Should I quit my job and do something spiritual? Does God value my work?

“We, however, will not boast beyond measure, but within the limits of the sphere (metron) which God appointed us.”  2 Corinthians 10:13   All aspects of our life and vocation (work) exist in the context of our influence “metron”.  God has given us tremendous responsibility regardless of who we are and what we do. In fact, He has given us a commission and a mission. Do you feel that there is no way that you can make a difference and that you are somehow stuck in a “secular” occupation? If we are to invest our lives with purpose and power in the Kingdom of God, these questions must be answered.

Finding answers to these questions will free us to embrace our calling and thrive in our occupation with influence “metron”.  Through a deeply spiritual perspective on God’s original design for work, mission and meaning, we seek to recover and regain a kingdom perspective of each of our God-given occupation. A study of a practical Theology of Work to recover the dignity and mission of your vocation, based on the book “Managing Your Metron” by Jonathan Nowlen, who will personally engage in Q&A sessions throughout this SS quarter.
