T141 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
On March 15, 2023 (from 4:30-7:30pm) please join MRU’s Women in Media (WIM) student group, as part of the Faculty of Business and Communication Studies International Women’s Day events, screening of “She Said”.
In October 2017, Jodi Kantor and Megan Twohey of The New York Times reporters broke one of the most important stories in a generation. Their careful reporting inspired a movement and broke decades of silence around the problematic nature of sexual assault in Hollywood.
The event will involve a screening of the feature film, a discussion of safe spaces for disclosure, and fundraising to support Calgary Communities Against Sexual Assault (CCASA).
Cost: Free, all funds raised from concessions will be donated.
Women in Media (WIM) is a SAMRU club started by broadcasting students in 2020. It began with the intention of giving the women in the program a safe space to tell stories and content that they were interested in but has expanded to invite any and all MRU students who are interested in the media or who have something to say to become members.
