Medina Valley ISD will continue to fill bus driver positions as quickly as possible to help alleviate this issue. We appreciate your understanding and patience at this time. If you have any questions, please contact our Transportation Dept. at (830) 931-2243 ext. 4500.
We are excited to bring new technology to our transportation department. With the implementation of the Tyler Drive and Traversa Ride 360 applications, we believe bus transportation will be a better experience for both students and parents going forward.
Your student(s) will be receiving a transportation ID card soon. The card will work with a reader onboard the bus which will send notifications to you when and where your student(s) board and exit their buses. These and other important notifications will come to you through “Ride 360,” available wherever you get your mobile phone apps. Additional instructions can be found on our website at www.mvisd.com.
Our staff will distribute transportation ID cards on the buses. Elementary students will have them attached to their backpacks, and secondary students will be instructed to put them on their campus ID lanyards. It is important that students not lose their ID cards, as replacement cards will cost $5.00 each when purchased through the Transportation Department. Students who do not have their ID cards with them when boarding a bus will only be allowed to ride for three days. A referral will be issued each day thereafter.
Unfortunately, like many school districts in the country, we are feeling the impact of the school bus driver shortage. To ensure that the maximum number of students possible have seats on our buses, MVISD will enforce a no ride/no seat rule this year. Upon 10-consecutive days during which a student does not ride the bus, the student will be dropped from the route to make room for a student who has been on our transportation waiting list. Advance notice with reasonable explanations for 10-day absences will, of course, be considered. We appreciate your understanding as we take steps to accommodate our riders.
Should you have any questions or require assistance, please call the MVISD Transportation Department at (830) 931-2243, ext. 4500. Thank you for your support in helping to ensure the success of these rollouts. Our goal, as always, is to transport students as safely and efficiently as possible.
