Any child in grades four and five who enjoys singing and can make a commitment to attend chorus rehearsals on Thursdays may be in chorus. There will not be an audition. CHORUS IS A YEAR-LONG COMMITMENT.
Chorus will meet every Thursday from 2:30 PM until 3:30 PM. Due to the number of interested students, I will accept chorus members on a first come, first served basis.
CHORUS REHEARSALS WILL BEGIN ON Thursday, Aug. 2022. Students may not attend without a completed form. Forms are due September
Chorus will operate on a “Three Strikes and You’re Out” policy. If a child fails to meet any three expectations below, he/she will no longer be allowed to participate in chorus. Please read the expectations for students and parents below. Type YES and click SUBMIT if you and your child agree to meet the expectations. If you cannot meet the expectations or if you do not wish for your child to participate in chorus, please click the X at the top right to close out the form without submitting it.

CHORUS EXPECTATIONS:

• Students who sign up for chorus are expected to stay in chorus for the entire school year. Materials are often ordered and paid for in advance according to the number of students who join initially. Please do not sign up if you cannot commit to participating all year.

• Students are expected to attend every chorus rehearsal and performance. All absences require a note/email from parents. If you know in advance of an absence, please send the note prior to rehearsal. Unexcused absences include, but are not limited to: no parent note, forgetting rehearsal, hair/nail appointments, no ride home, etc. Excused absences include student illnesses, deaths in the family or signing out of school (excused) prior to 2:30 PM.

• Chorus students must follow directions, have good behavior and maintain good attitudes during rehearsals and performances. The rules for music class will also apply in chorus. No fee is charged for chorus, but students should have a pencil and a chorus folder with pockets at each rehearsal.

• Parents are expected to pick up students from rehearsals and performances on time. For safety reasons, all chorus students should be picked up at the end of the 2nd and 3rd grade hallway (at the circle) unless they are in after school care.

• Parents are expected to bring students to performances on time. A missed performance counts as two strikes, except in the case of illness. If a child is ill on the day of a performance, Mrs. Evans should be notified in advance of the performance.

• Students are responsible for music and materials that are not returned. Students will be charged replacement value for any missing items.
