Trinity Education for Excellence Program: Our mission at TEEP is to establish a safe and supportive community with Boston’s Youth of Color where every member is inspired to discover, empowered to achieve, and individually affirmed. This is a program of the non-profit: Trinity Boston Connects.
TEEP Youth Leader Position
TEEP is a values-based program, meaning our program activities are designed to exemplify the five Rs: Respect, Responsibility, Restraint, Reciprocity & Redemption.
TEEP’s academic classes, cultural explorations, and leadership training are in place to support students holistically as they progress through adolescence and become young adults.
TEEP recognizes the unique developmental needs of adolescents including:
- positive social interaction with adults and peers
- structure and clear limits
- physical activity
- creative expression
- competence and achievement
Pay Rate:
$15 per hour/ 25 Hours per week
(CIT 9-10th graders)
$17+ per hour / 30+ Hours per week
(LDP 11-12th graders)
Monday-Friday 9am to 3:30pm
June 26th, 2023 (Staff training week)
July 3, 2023- August 4th, 2023 (TEEP summer session)
Qualifications:
- Be 14 (turning 15 on or by September 1st) or older
- Currently a BPS/ METCO/ Charter Student
- Possess qualities of a Leader
- An interest in social justice
- A passion to be a part of the change
Reports to:
- Head Counselors
- Program Director
Responsibilities:
- Participation in topic based workshops
- Participation in student check- ins for professional development
- Assist with daily programmatic tasks (attendance, breakfast, workshops, supplies etc.)
- Provide guidance and support to all TEEPers throughout the work day
- Support Head Counselors with the vibe of the group
- Participate in financial Literacy workshops
- Take on leadership role(s) in final community project
- Engage creatively with all projects: social justice, civic engagement, leadership, community building
