2020 GABBR Virtual STEM Summer Academy - Cooperating Teacher Application
As an extension of the Greater Alabama Black Belt Region Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (GABBR LSAMP) Program, the alliance is partnering with K-12 school districts in the region to create summer STEM academies for rising 8th-11th grade students. The 2020 program will take place virtually June 1 - July 2 for students in Bullock, Macon, and Montgomery counties. The goal of the program is to increase college readiness among students from the Black Belt Region of Alabama by expanding their content knowledge in core subject areas, allowing them to progress along a path toward college/university admission and successful studies in STEM. Teachers from these school districts are invited to apply to serve as "cooperating teachers" to advise course instructors on curriculum selections and attend classes.
