【Emergency Rally】
The 2024 Amendment of Immigration Control Act that prevents "coexistence"
- “Ikusei-shuro (育成就労)" system inheriting slavery,
and revocation of Permanent Residence Status
#Don’t Revoke the Permanent Residence Status
#No to the 2024 amendments of the Immigration Control Act!
Japan is already a "migrant society".
However, the proposed "amendments" to the Immigration
Control Act, the Immigration Control Special Provisions Act, and the Technical
Intern Training Act, approved by the Cabinet on March 15, 2024, run counter to
the government's goal of "the realization of society of harmonious coexistence”. We believe
that these "amendments" will not only continue the deception of the
past, but will also lead to new forms of exclusion and discrimination.
What we are calling for is a migration policy that is appropriate
to the reality of an "migrant society”. We need a shift to a policy that
accepts people as human beings, respects their dignity and rights, and allows
them to live in safety and stability. We hold an emergency rally as below to call
for a "just migrant society," a society where people respect each
other's differences. Please join us.
