VOYC Network Membership Application
This membership application form is to be used by those youth organisations that are members of a national youth organisation such as Scouts or Air Cadets.

Guidelines:
To be eligible for Network membership, an organisation must meet the following criteria:
1  The organisation must be a voluntary body (ie, independent, self-governing body of people who have joined together voluntarily to take action for the benefit of the community and established otherwise than for financial gain).
2  The organisation must be a coordinating network for organisations that work with children and young people in Devon.
3  VOYC membership is normally restricted to registered charities; however  if an organisation is not, its aims, objectives and methods of working should be stated in a document that is available for public inspection.
4  The organisation must support our charitable purposes and subscribe to its aims and values ( https://www.voycdevon.org.uk/who-we-are/key-documents).

Applications that fit the criteria for membership are put to the VOYC Devon officers for consideration.  The following factors will be considered:
-  The length of time the organisation has been functioning and its financial situation.  Organisations must be properly constituted, and not in existence for a time limited period for a particular purpose. 
-  Having a policy focusing on equal opportunity and diversity and a commitment to improve practice in this area.
-  Where applicable, children and young people have an opportunity to take an active part in the organisation's decision-making processes.
-  A child protection policy setting out how the organisation ensures that it is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all children and young people who come into contact with its services, by protecting them from physical, sexual and emotional harm and neglect.

Required Policies and Structure

To become a Network member of VOYC Devon we require you to have some basic quality assurance requirements. We therefore ask that you share with us the following supporting documentation:

-  Constitution;
-  Child Protection / Safeguarding Policy;
-  Equality  Policy or Guidelines;
-  Insurance Certificate;
-  Latest set of Accounts.

If you cannot provide a policy, tick the 'not available' option and we will contact you to help. 

 Your application can only be considered once all documentation stated above has been received.

VOYC Devon is a membership organisation, we need to hold the contact information of each Organisation’s nominated VOYC representative. This means that we can:

- send the above person VOYC mailings including the E-bulletin;

- enable individuals connected with children / youth sector organisations to make contact with your organisation through VOYC Devon;

- tell you about the VOYC Devon Annual Meeting and Report.
