Register for Mill Creek Alliance SEED BOMB & Winter Sowing Workshop!
The group will work to create clay and soil based balls filled and covered with native wildflower seeds that will be artificially stratified before being broadcast along the banks of the Mill Creek in the spring. In addition, we will create mini green houses using a technique called winter sowing. This is method of starting seeds outdoors in winter using recycled milk jugs. Native plants are adapted to local climate and soil conditions and provide nectar, pollen, and seeds that serve as food for native butterflies, insects, birds and other animals.
Spaces for the workshop have filled up quickly in the past and our space is limited. Depending on the site location and the weather, we may need an ALT date, which has been set for Saturday, February 1. Please choose your preferred date. Your flexibility would be appreciated.
LOCATION: NEW partner site in Carthage, along the Mill Creek (600 Township Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45216). More details will be provided as date approaches. Alternative location will be at the MCA office at 1223 Jefferson Avenue, Reading OH 45215. You will receive confirmation of registration by email by January 21st.
