Call for Proposals for the Virtual Group Therapy  Conference April 28-29, 2022
Please complete SEPARATE proposals if you are hoping to lead more than one type of training event.

Types of training events:

(1) a SMALL GROUP EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING (four 90 minute sessions with the same cohort of 6-12 participants)
or
(2) a WORKSHOP (one 90-minute open breakout session).

DESCRIPTION OF SMALL GROUP EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING (SGET) also known as an 'institute':
You would be the leader of a small group comprised of 6-12 conference attendees that select your group (among all the group possibilities) based on the description of your group and your bio statement that will be in the conference promotional materials. Conference attendees will be asked to submit their rank order requests as soon as possible with the understanding that some SGET will fill up faster than others. Conference attendees will be made aware that their rank order request forms are due one week before the conference, and if they miss the deadline they will be assigned to a SGET by the conference organizers.

You will lead four group sessions (90 minutes each) with the SAME group of 8-12 individuals.

DESCRIPTION OF WORKSHOP:
You would present on a topic relevant to group therapy to a group of conference attendees that select your open session. Workshops may be didactic in nature, experiential, or a mixture. Those that are more didactic would be open to more participants (e.g. up to 30 people), while workshops that are more experiential would be limited to 10-12 participants. Your workshop would be 90 minutes long.

Additional details:
You may propose a group experiential that is themed around a specific population or presenting concern(s) (e.g. men's addiction groups, adolescent grief groups, trauma recovery groups) or a theme that is focused on certain aspects of group work (e.g. group developmental stages, shame/excitement and intimacy in group work, attachment theory applied to group work, Dialectic and Behavioral Therapy with groups, the power of immediacy in group therapy).
