What volunteer opportunities are you interested in?
SYRINGE EXCHANGE PROGRAM (SEP): This would involve working at one of our numerous pop-up clinics county-wide to provide discrete needle exchange services to substance users. Currently, we offer pop-up clinics in Isla Vista, Santa Barbara, and Santa Maria, with the hope to bring back our services in Lompoc in the near future.
HEALTH AND PREVENTION (General): This program involves working directly with our Health and Prevention Intern to ensure we are staying up to date on all things physical health.
COMMUNITY TABLING OPPORTUNITIES: As a tabling volunteer, you would be going to events held by other organizations in the area during Pride Month and all year round. You would be the face of Pacific Pride at these events; handing out fliers, interacting with the community, and fielding questions regarding the work that we do are some examples of what to expect.
EVENTS: We are always looking for volunteers to help us put on the events that we do. Whether it's Pride Festival in August, or PROUD Prom in April, we need people to help us make them as incredible as we can!
LAVENDER ELDER SUPPORT: We are looking for a trustworthy volunteer to drive some of our Lavender Elders to our monthly communal meeting at Jill's Place in downtown Santa Barbara. We are hoping to expand programming to include more in-person events in the future. NOTE: MUST HOLD A VALID DRIVER'S LICENSE.
DATA ENTRY: This is our "catch-all" volunteer opportunity. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes at PPF, and sometimes we cannot always keep up with demand. Data entry volunteers would be in charge of research and number-crunching when necessary.
