WHAT WE BELIEVE
We're glad you're interested in serving in the worship ministry at CCC!
As you continue prayerfully considering your involvement in the worship ministry, we’d like to clarify the commitment you are making should you join the team.
First and foremost, we believe that worship team members are not just musicians. We are ALL worship leaders.
𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽:
If you are a bass player, your role is not just to pluck a few strings and fill in the low end. You are a worship leader!
If you are a percussionist, your role is not simply to hit a few drums and cymbals. You are a worship leader!
If you are a background vocalist, you don’t just sing harmony. You are a worship leader!
Because we are ALL worship leaders.
𝗔𝘁 CCC, 𝘄𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗮 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀:
A worship leader is someone who seeks to point people to the goodness of God and provides the opportunity to respond to that truth.
So, no matter what MUSICAL role you fill in the worship ministry, we all share the same SPIRITUAL role.

𝟭. 𝗪𝗲 𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵
The title worship leader reveals not only our mission but our position.
We are not just musicians in the church. We are LEADERS.
And that leadership extends to outside of Sunday mornings.
Should you join the worship ministry, people will recognize you as a leader in the church – not just on Sunday mornings – but at your workplace, when you’re shopping at the grocery store, and when you’re at your son or daughter’s school sports game.
That’s why it is so important that we represent the church well and seek to glorify God – not just on Sunday mornings – but in all areas of our lives.
That is not to say that there isn’t room for mistakes - thank God for the grace He provides on a daily basis! But, as leaders in the church, we will be held to a higher standard.
𝟮. 𝗪𝗲 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗘 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽
Joining the worship ministry is not just a Sunday morning commitment.
As a team, it’s important that we put in the work ahead of time to make sure things flow as smoothly as possible on Sunday mornings.
When we prepare well, we are able to lead worship well.
(More on the specific expectations of preparation later…)
𝟯. 𝗪𝗲 𝗦𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗘𝗫𝗖𝗘𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗡𝗖𝗘
God deserves our best. Therefore, we have a culture of constant improvement understanding that we’ve never “arrived.”
Members of the worship ministry are expected to have a TEACHABLE ATTITUDE understanding that there is always room for improvement.
We have a culture of constant evaluation – not for the sake of saying “look what you did wrong” but for the sake of learning how we can improve as a team.
𝟰. 𝗪𝗲 𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗩𝗘 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀
A key leadership principle that Jesus sets forth in the Bible is servant leadership.
As leaders in the church, we are called to SERVE others in the church.
That means that we make decisions with them in mind FIRST.
Our song choices reflect not just what music we like, but what will best allow our church to worship in the specific season that they are in.
When we have a servant leadership focus – we fix problems we see without being asked. That could be as simple as picking up a piece of trash in the parking lot on the way into worship rehearsal. OR even helping a church member move into a new house.
Leaders SERVE others.
𝟱. 𝗪𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗙𝗔𝗠𝗜𝗟𝗬
As partners in the worship ministry, we are not simply a band of musicians.
We are a FAMILY.
Yes, families argue from time to time. Conflict arises. But, at the end of the day, we make a commitment to work with each other and love each other through any struggles for the benefit of the church.
