Youth Education Summit Pre-Summit Interaction Event: Youth Education Summit (15th September 2023)
Many countries are moving away from the traditional ways of teaching and learning known as compulsory schooling. Home schooling, e-learning and hybrid learning has become the new trend of teaching and learning worldwide and the emergence of these new models of schooling has accelerated ever since the outbreak of the corona virus pandemic in 2019. Since Seychelles have not been spared from the virus, the Ministry of Education had to seek and explore other models of schooling to ensure engagement and continuity in teaching and learning.  Early 2022, the Minister for Education, Dr Justin Valentin, made a pronouncement stipulating that there is a need to outline a plan as to how compulsory schooling, homeschooling and virtual (online) learning would be inserted in the law of Seychelles.
