Thank you for your interest in co-hosting a Teaching Artists Training Institute Regional Practicum. Regional Practicums offer fully-funded professional development opportunities for Teaching Artists working with El Sistema-inspired or community music programs. Through the Host application process, chosen organizations will have the opportunity to craft the Regional Practicum to align with their program’s greatest needs and areas for growth. Organizations are welcome to apply either as an Individual Host OR to apply together with a neighboring program to Co-Host.
TATI holds five Regional Practicums each year. Due to the size of the US, region availability may shift from year to year.
Regions are generally defined as follows:
- WEST AND PACIFIC NORTHWEST: CA, NV, OR, WA, AK
- MIDWEST: IA, IL, IN, MI, MN, OH, WI
- SOUTHWEST AND ROCKY MOUNTAINS: AZ, CO, NM, OK, TX, UT
- NORTHEAST: CT, MA, ME, NH, NY, NJ, PA, RI, VT, Canada
- MID-ATLANTIC: NC, VA, WV, MD, DE, NJ, PA
- SOUTHEAST: SC, GA, AL, FL, LA, MS, AS
Applications to host are accepted on a rolling basis with specific calls shared out each Spring.
For the 2024-2025 School Year, applications will be accepted for the SOUTHWEST Region and MIDWEST Region.
Applications from all other regions will still be accepted, but will only be considered for the 2025-2026 School year and beyond.
To be eligible as co-host organizations for a TATI Regional Practicum, both organizations...
- Are designated K-12 music education nonprofit organizations in the US or Canada,
- Demonstrate a commitment to social change through music,
- Enroll a majority of students who have little or no access to high-quality music instruction outside of this program,
- Provide free or significantly reduced cost for program participants,
- Utilize majority group instruction through instrumental ensembles, group practice, and sectionals,
- Have a consistent weekly class schedule that is offered more than two days per week,
- Have not hosted a TATI Regional Practicum during the past two school years (2021-2023).
