As part of AYSO Region 462’s commitment to excellence, we require that all of our EXTRA coaches make the following commitment to the players, parents and AYSO Region 462. After reading, please check each section:

I recognize the substantial time commitment and responsibilities associated with being selected as an EXTRA Coach and agree to commit the necessary time for practices and games during the season. This includes travel throughout Southern California and potentially other states.

I recognize that AYSO Region 462 EXTRA teams represent both our Region and the Jurupa Valley community. Should I be selected as an EXTRA Coach, I commit to conduct myself positively at all times, incorporating the philosophies of the AYSO organization in order to ensure that my actions reflect positively on AYSO, the Region and our community.

I understand that this is a one year commitment, from Aug. 2023 through July 31, 2024

I agree to hold my practice sessions at the days, times and fields allocated to our team

I agree to adhere to all of AYSO's Safe Haven policies and procedures

I will motivate and teach using the PIE acronym: Positive, Instructional, Encouraging

I agree to have only AYSO Region 462 registered and rostered players assigned to my team for all practices and games

It is understood that AYSO is a volunteer organization and I agree to obtain the assistance from those parents/guardians on my team. It is understood that parents/guardians of EXTRA players take an active role in our activities, not only in the EXTRA program but also the Core Program, which is the heart of the AYSO program.

I understand each team must have a fully certified Assistant Coach and Team Manager prior to the season. It is required that the coach, assistant coach and team manager "NOT" be related to spread the responsibilities

I understand that each team must have a fully certified referee crew. This must include at least one person who will be a center referee, not just three assistant referees. For U14 teams and above, it is required that one of those referees be at an Intermediate Level or higher. The team will be responsible for filling as many referee assignments during each season as the number of home games they have (i.e. 5 home games = 5 centers and 10 AR assignments required). Each team will also have a volunteer day that requires coverage from open to close

I agree to always remember this is a game for our children and while competitive, I strive to always remember the AYSO Philosophies

I understand that if my team makes the playoffs and the region provides referees and/or volunteer support for the team, that will require additional refereeing

I understand that I may not be asked back to coach by the Regional Commissioner for upcoming seasons. I also understand that being selected to coach this season does not guarantee coaching further seasons. Each season, all applicants will be considered regardless of former coaches at that age division

I agree that the coach takes sole responsibility regarding the behavior of players, parents, and spectators.

I understand that my team will be required to volunteer at Jurupa AYSO tournaments including additional referee assignments. In return, Jurupa AYSO will fund a tournament for the team.

I understand that my team will be responsible for providing a referee crew on a weekly basis for the Core Program. Failure to do so can result in the forfeiture of EXTRA Games and/or cancellation of any approved tournaments.
