This application is for experienced counselors (those having served a season or more in the Georgia 4-H Camping Program) who are seeking a camp counselor position in the Georgia 4-H Camping Program in 2020.

In 2020, the Georgia 4-H Camping Program will operate at Georgia's five 4-H facilities -- Burton 4-H Center on Tybee Island, Camp Jekyll, Fortson 4-H Center, Rock Eagle 4-H Center, and Wahsega 4-H Center.

BEGINNING THIS YEAR, TO COMPLY WITH UGA STUDENT WORKER GUIDELINES ALL COUNSELORS ARE REQUIRED TO BE ENROLLED AS A STUDENT IN BOTH THE SEMESTER BEFORE AND AFTER THE SUMMER THEY SERVE AS A COUNSELOR.  THE STUDENT WORKER ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENT IS SATISFIED BY AT LEAST HALF TIME ENROLLMENT AT ANY INSTITUTE OF HIGHER EDUCATION (IN STATE, OUT-OF-STATE, TECHNICAL COLLEGE OR SCHOOL, PRIVATE SCHOOL, USG INSTITUTION, UNDERGRADUATE OR GRADUATE SCHOOL).

DO NOT COMPLETE THIS APPLICATION IF YOU DO NOT INTEND TO BE ENROLLED AS A STUDENT DURING THE 2020 SPRING AND FALL SEMESTERS AS DESCRIBED ABOVE.  PROOF OF ENROLLMENT MAY BE REQUIRED BEFORE YOU ARE HIRED AS A COUNSELOR.

Please also make note of these important employment considerations:

-- Counselor training is very important and your attendance is expected at both All-Counselor training, February 21-23, 2020, and the training weekend at your assigned Center in March 2020.  Absences may be excused on a case-by-case basis, BUT YOU SHOULD NOT APPLY FOR COUNSELOR EMPLOYMENT if you know you will be unable to attend at least one of these two training weekends.
-- The expected starting date of your summer employment is on or about Saturday, May 23, 2020.  The expected end dates of employment at each Center are:  Burton, July 20; Fortson, July 20; Jekyll, July 20; Rock Eagle, July 13; and, Wahsega, July 13.  While special circumstances will be considered on a case-by-case basis, you should not apply if you do not expect to be able to work the entire camping season.
-- Your employment beginning and end dates will be confirmed in your offer letter in January 2020, if you are selected to be a counselor.
